A Christmas Eve Reset: Finding Calm at The Wellbeing Spot

Christmas Eve carries a particular kind of energy. There is excitement and beauty in the air, but there is also a lot of noise and end of year stress. Shops are busy, conversations are loud, roads are full and many nervous systems are running on high alert, often without us even realising it.

Today, while out and about, I popped into The Wellbeing Spot in Rockingham to check on stock. The moment I walked through the door, I felt the contrast. The noise of the season stayed outside, and I stepped into a space that felt calm, quiet and grounded. It was a gentle exhale for my whole body.

I have had the pleasure of stocking my products at The Wellbeing Spot since it opened in May, and every visit reminds me why this space feels so special. Even on this high energy day, it held a softness and steadiness that felt deeply nurturing.

A Gift of Deep Rest

While I was there, Deanne gifted me a combined Crystal Light Bed and Vibro-acoustic Therapy session. The session was just 20 minutes, yet it felt like exactly what my nervous system needed.

I have experienced both crystal light therapy and vibro-acoustic therapy separately in the past, but this was the first time I received them together. Experiencing them in combination added a new layer of depth and support.

I lay down on the table, placed the headphones on, and allowed myself to simply receive.

How the Experience Works

Crystal light therapy uses crystals and coloured light frequencies to help balance the chakras, clear energetic blockages, and support emotional and physical wellbeing. As the light moves through the energy centres of the body, it gently encourages alignment, flow and energetic renewal.

Vibro-acoustic therapy adds another dimension. The ARIA Sound Lounge includes a vibration board built into the table, allowing low-frequency vibrations to move through the body while healing sound frequencies play through the headphones.

The sound is not only heard, it is felt. The healing tracks play through the headphones and vibrate through the mattress, creating an all-encompassing sound experience that surrounds the body in gentle waves of vibration and frequency.

What I Felt in My Body

What stood out most was how subtle and supportive the experience felt. There was no forcing, no pushing, no expectation to “go somewhere” or have a big emotional release. Instead, it felt like a gentle encouragement into relaxation.

The vibrations stimulate the vagus nerve, which plays a key role in regulating the nervous system. As the vibrations moved through my body, I could feel my system slowly settling. My breath softened. My shoulders relaxed. My body received the message that it was safe to rest.

The sounds and frequencies worked alongside the vibrations to quiet the mind and soothe the nervous system. Together, they created a sense of being held, supported and deeply calm. It reminded me so much of what I experience in sound healing sessions, where vibration and frequency speak directly to the body, bypassing the thinking mind and inviting regulation and ease.

A Perfect Reset on Christmas Eve

In the middle of a loud, busy season, this session felt like the perfect reset. A pause. A moment of stillness. A reminder that rest does not need to be earned, and that even short, intentional experiences can have a profound effect on the nervous system.

I left feeling grounded, settled and quietly restored, carrying that calm with me as I stepped back into the day.

A Beautiful Space to Visit

The Wellbeing Spot is more than just a place to receive individual treatments, it is a true community wellbeing hub. The centre is home to a range of regular practitioners working from the therapy rooms, offering modalities such as remedial massage, reiki, readings and other holistic healing therapies.

There are also two beautiful spaces available for hire, the Soul Studio and the larger Energy Studio. Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of facilitating and co-facilitating workshops within the centre, and these rooms hold such a warm, supportive energy for gatherings, movement, meditation and healing work.

In addition to private sessions and room hire, The Wellbeing Spot regularly hosts free meditations, community events, workshops and special offerings, making it a welcoming and space for anyone wanting to explore wellbeing at their own pace.

If you’d like a comprehensive overview of everything the centre offers, including practitioners, room hire, events and upcoming workshops, you can explore more here: https://wellbeingspot.org

The centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and is only closed on public holidays. You’ll find it on the corner of Council Avenue and Goddard Street, Rockingham.

And if you do visit, you’ll also find some of my MelissaMade with Love products on the shelves, quietly woven into this beautiful, supportive space.

A Gentle Invitation

This experience was a beautiful reminder of how powerful sound, vibration and intentional rest can be for the nervous system. Whether through vibro-acoustic therapy, crystal light sessions, sound healing or other supportive practices, creating space for your body to feel safe and supported is one of the most nourishing gifts you can give yourself.

If you find yourself needing a quiet moment amidst the noise, at any time of the year, I encourage you to step into The Wellbeing Spot and experience it for yourself. Sometimes, all it takes is 20 minutes of intentional pause to come back to yourself.

💙Melissa
